During any given winter in Northeast Ohio, most reservoirs are drawn down so that ice formation does not harm docks or dam structures. This year, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Lake Milton State Park have agreed to lower Lake Milton to eight feet below summer pool. With this dramatic drawdown, the Division of Wildlife will use this opportunity to enhance the habitat around several key areas around the State Park. Read More »

The workshops will take place at the Army Corps of Engineers Visitor’s Center on Wayland Road near the dam of West Branch Reservoir. The new Flying WILD program will be offered in the morning followed by Science & Civics in the afternoon. AKRON, OH – A young, male black bear estimated by wildlife officials to weigh about 160-pounds was discovered in a roadside ditch by a Columbiana County resident last Thursday.
