Hillsboro, OH – The Southwest Ohio Chapter of Safari Club International (SCI) and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife will donate venison to the Highland County Homeless Shelter and Samaritan Outreach Services in Hillsboro at 12:00 noon on November 26, 2008. The Homeless Shelter is located at 145 Homestead Avenue, Hillsboro, OH 45133 and the Samaritan Outreach is located at 537 N. East Street, Hillsboro. The donation to Samaritan Outreach will be at 1:00 pm.

XENIA, OH – Mulberry Pheasantry of Camden, Ohio in conjunction with the Butler County Chapter of Pheasants Forever is holding a youth pheasant hunt complete with guides and hunting dogs on Saturday November 15, 2008.  The hunt will take place at Mulberry Pheasantry Hunting Preserve, 6099 S.R. 725, Camden, Ohio 45311.

For the third year deer hunters will have access to prime deer hunting land at the Edge of Appalachia Preserve in Adams County. In a five year agreement signed in 2006 The Nature Conservancy (TNC), Cincinnati Museum Center (CMC), and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife opened approximately 2,263 acres of land to deer hunting by permit only.

Xenia, OH- The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife has announced the temporary closure of the 100 yard shooting range at Spring Valley for lead reclamation from August 20- 24, 2008. The 25 and 50 yard ranges will remain open during the reclamation process of the 100 yard range.

XENIA, OH – The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife will again hold controlled hunts on Fallsville, Indian Creek, Bott, Spring Valley, and Rush Run Wildlife Areas by permit only Sept. 1 and 2, 2008. Rocky Fork Lake State Park is home to one of the twenty-one new nests across the state and will host a morning of activities and offers the opportunity to see our national symbol.A viewing opportunity is scheduled for June 4, 2008, starting at 10:30 a.m. and concluding at 1:00 p.m.
