Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District

Welcome to the lakes of the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District -- Ohio’s largest conservancy district that spans across portions of 18 counties in northeast and eastern Ohio. The Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District comprises eight recreational lakes that attract many residents as well as nonresident visitors.

These lakes include Atwood, Charles Mill, Clendening, Leesville, Piedmont, Pleasant Hill, Seneca and Tappan.

Boating and fishing opportunities are excellent at any of the MWCD lakes. In agreement with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, these conservancy district lakes and recreation lands are professionally managed to provide quality outdoors recreation in addition to flood control and natural resource conservation.

Atwood Lake, located in Tuscarawas and Carroll counties, is 1,540 acres in size. Boaters must observe a 25-horsepower limit and can enjoy use of 3 boat launch ramps and services of two marinas.
