Call Before You Go
Starting in October, boat registration agents reconcile their accounts with the Division of Watercraft. That means they count and turn in their unused materials so that they can be ready to receive next year's decals in December and January.
Call BEFORE you go to an agent to make sure they still have the decals that you need.
Do You Need a Boat Registration Agent ... or a Title Office?
Boat Registration Agents write boat registrations.
Title Offices manage the ownership of titled boats.
When the ownership of a titled boat changes, you will need to contact a Title Office first. The title is used as proof of ownership and must be accurate before writing the registration.
Sometimes the Title Office is also a Boat Registration Agent, but not always.
Call before you go to check hours of operation, acceptable methods of payment, and that you have all the documentation you need. You will need your driver's license or other acceptable ID to complete a transaction.
