Confluence 2009: Charting the Future of Boating
Ohio’s Statewide Boating Conference
November 4 & 5 at Salt Fork Resort and Conference Center
This conference, hosted by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Watercraft, celebrates the success of safe recreational boating in Ohio. The conference provides training and information to assist boating professionals in preparing for the future of recreational boating and our states waterways.
What will the future bring to Ohio boating? This is one of many questions to be explored at Confluence 2009. Recreational boating leaders from throughout the state and nation will review the issues, trends, and forecasts that will shape boating, outdoor recreation, resource management, water quality, and public safety well into the future.
Among the topics included for review are Ohio’s new Strategic Plan, state and federal legislation updates, and the merging of Scenic Rivers into the Division of Watercraft.
Break-out sessions include Education and Paddlesport Standards from the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators, Boating on Ohio’s Waterways plan, standardization of access signage, new boat accident report, Operating Under the Influence forms, watershed management, etc.
We look forward to seeing boating educators, marine law enforcement officers, conservationists, and our boating partners in November! |
