Smokey Bear

The national fire-prevention symbol, has spent 65 years promoting his slogan- “Only you can prevent wild fires”

Smokey Bear, who greets fair visitors by name, has been at the fair's Natural Resources Park for more than 30 years.

He is 14.5 feet tall (roughly 15 yards of fur). His blue jeans are Levi's and were made using approximately 14 yards of material.

Next to Smokey stands an educational Pavilion filled with informative exhibits on a variety of natural resource and recreational topics, such as trails, camping, recycling, mining and conservation.

Smokey Bear and Ask a Forester hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
