Best Management Practices for Erosion Control for Logging Practices in Ohio - The BMP book is a field reference guide that is an essential tool for the Master Logger program and for assuring compliance with the Ohio Agricultural Pollution Abatement Law by establishing guidelines and standards that are practical and effective.

The layout of the book reflects the way a logging job progresses in the field.  Graphics communicate desired techniques and outcomes.

The handbook was reviewed by the Silvicultural Nonpoint Source (NPS) Pollution Technical Advisory Committee.  This committee was created through authorization of section 319 of the 1987 Federal Water Quality Act.  Input for the revision was solicited from a wide variety of individuals and disciplines in both the public and private sector.  This publication is the direct result of a cooperative effort between multiple public agencies combined with extensive input from industry stakeholders.
