Earth Resources Information Network

Earth Resources Information Network (ERIN) is an evolving network of tools that facilitate inclusion of Ohio’s soil, water and natural resource data into private and public land use decisions. ERIN provides this data in a single location, with a simple format and in conjunction with powerful analysis tools. See how ERIN is being used.

The Dig Report quickly creates printable reports that summarize natural resource data based on a point selected by the user.

The Survey Report quickly creates printable reports that summarize natural resource data within a given area selected by the user.

The Watershed Report instantly displays a printable report that summarize natural resource data within a watershed selected by the user.

The ERIN GIS allows for the creation of customized maps and the completion of complex analysis using local and statewide data.  Here local data can be viewed if it has been included by your local Soil and water Conservation District (SWCD) and can be uploaded for display and analysis.  Analysis tools include measure, selection, and terrain analysis tools.   Maps can be customized with text, images and shapes.  Work created while using the ERIN GIS can be saved or shared with others.

The SPREADABLE ACREAGE CALCULATOR is a tool to calculate buffers in order to complete Part K of the Ohio Nutrient Management Workbook.

The WATER WELL LOG LOCATOR is a tool to get water well log information.
