Ohio Department of Natural Resources - FOP LMC Current Projects

ODNR-FOP Labor Management Committee Current Projects

Action items from previous meeting:

Seniority Credits-

It was determined that we need to agree to a setpoint for OAKS to calculate from going forward and that an SOP should be developed to deal with this issue in all divisions. This issue is still outstanding.

MARCS Radio Updates-

The new templates were rolled out. A handful of glitches have been identified and will be fixed after the new MCT rollout is complete. March 11 is the next scheduled management meeting on MARCS and staff have been invited to attend to bring any issues to light.

Emergency Response Team Subcommittee-

Subcommittee delivered a report of the first meeting.

Computer Issues-MCTs-

We are currently in the final 2 weeks of MCT installments with primarily Parks and Wildlife left to do. We’ve also begun to go out to the Watercraft Regional Offices to install them in boats. That should be completed by the spring.

Voluntary Officer Training-

At the last meeting it was agreed that this issue could be put on the back burner as it has appeared to loosen up a bit.

ODNR Officer Code of Conduct-

All Divisions agreed that the current practice, whereby Codes of Conduct remain separate to address divisional needs but contain core elements across the board, should continue.

Legislation needed-

Mike Shelton, Leg. Affairs Director, advised that to pursue any change in legislation regarding the return of funds garnered from the sale of seized property we would need to know what kind of numbers we’re dealing with. The Department would need to get the numbers together and decide if it wanted to pursue the issue further.

Special Duty-

The issue of security for, at that time, Senator Obama was brought up at last meeting. The ERT subcommittee was to discuss this issue. Additionally the Division of Parks offered a suggestion for special duty procedure going forward.
