Rent a canoe or kayak and paddle the Grand River or the Grand State Wild & Scenic River.

Wildlife Area

The Grand River Wildlife Area is worth the drive fora wildlife watching or hunting.

Beaver, pheasants, woodcock, ruffed grouse, turkey, deer, squirrels and rabbits are abundant and river otters have been successfully re-introduced here.

Mosquito Creek Lake Wildlife Area offers the chance to view rare and unusual birds such as bald and golden eagles, white pelicans, glossy ibises, king rails, ospreys, goshawks, long-eared owls and African cattle egrets.

The Shenango Wildlife Area is popular for hunting waterfowl, rabbit, squirrel, turkey, grouse, deer, woodcock, and pheasant. Trapping for muskrat and other furbearers, particularly beaver and raccoon, is also very popular.
