The Ohio State Parks Legacy Foundation was founded in 2006 to provide support for park-specific firends, volunteer, and support groups with projects to improve their parks.  In spring 2007, the foundation distributed its first round of grants to seven groups for improvement projects at their parks.

Individuals, families, and businesses may donate to the Ohio State Parks Legacy Foundation in honor of a family member, friend or employee, or to offer support for improving Ohio State Parks in general or to specific parks.

The Legacy fund is managed by the Columbus Foundation and a wide variety of financial planning and estate options for donations are available.
