SHAWNEE AND BRUSH CREEK STATE FORESTS
OPEN HOUSE TO BE HELD OCTOBER 13
WEST PORTSMOUTH, OH The District 6 Office of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Forestry will host a public Open House on October 13. Attendees will learn about plans for Shawnee and Brush Creek State Forests for Fiscal Year 2005 (July 1, 2004-June 30, 2005). There will also be question/comment opportunities.

- Ohio Horsemen’s Council (Scioto County Chapter) proposal to expand a bridle trail and add a parking area on Rt. 52
- ODNR production video about the February 2003 Ice Storm which had a dramatic effect on Shawnee State Forest and many Ohio River counties
- Road and bridge projects planned for FY 2005
- Riffe CCC Camp removal plans
- Updated roadside mowing policy
- New Marcs radio tower completed

There may be a helicopter-logging project underway on Forest Road 14 in Shawnee State Forest. If so, open house attendees will have the opportunity to view the helicopter carrying logs. |
