ANNUAL FALL FESTIVAL AND CAMPOUT SET FOR OCTOBER 5-7
AT ALUM CREEK STATE PARK

COLUMBUS, OH - Visitors to Alum Creek State Park in Delaware County can experience Halloween a little early this year at the 20th annual Fall Festival & Campout, scheduled for Thursday, Friday and Saturday, October 5-7. Previous information incorrectly stated the event dates as October 13-15.

Park staffers guarantee three days of fun and fright at the park's family campground, marina and amphitheater. Activities begin at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 5, with a storytelling session and scary movie in the amphitheater, followed by a haunted boat ride at the marina.

Other weekend activities in the campground include live musical entertainment, wagon and canoe rides, face painting, pumpkin carving and trick-or-treat. Free refreshments will be served, including apple cider, soup beans and cornbread.

Campers are encouraged to dress in their favorite Halloween costumes for the costume contest or just relax and take a pontoon boat ride on Alum Creek Reservoir. An awards ceremony, haunted trail and Halloween costume karaoke will conclude the festivities on Saturday evening at the amphitheater.

All activities are open to the public. Camping is $18 per night for a regular site with new 50-amp electrical service. Sites are available on a first come, first served basis. For more information about the Fall Festival & Campout, contact the Alum Creek Welcome Center at (740) 548-4039 or the park office at (740) 548-4631.
