HOLIDAY DISPLAY TO LIGHT UP ALUM CREEK STATE PARK
Drive-through extravaganza features more than 100 holiday light displays
LEWIS CENTER, OH - Visitors can enjoy a “Holiday Fantasy of Lights” at Alum Creek State Park this holiday season. The drive-through display features more than 100 lighted holiday scenes, including cascading arches and animated sculptures, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR).
The sea of lights will begin to shine on Friday, November 19 and continue through Thursday, December 30. Admission fee per car is $10, Monday through Thursday; and $15, Friday through Sunday. Large vans, buses and limos could be subject to an additional charge.
Visitors are invited to the park marina to enjoy free cookies and warm up with hot chocolate. During the holiday season, the marina will be transformed into Santa’s Gift Shop where Santa himself will be available for photos. Photos with Santa are $5 per picture.
All proceeds from photos as well as a portion of gate sales benefit Recreation Unlimited, a camp in northern Delaware County that serves thousands of young people each year who have physical and mental disabilities.
The light display is open for viewing from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., Sunday through Thursday; and 5:30 to 10:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday. For more information, contact Alum Creek State Park at 740-548-4631.
To access the light display, take South Old State Road north from Polaris Parkway. Travel on South Old State Road for approximately four miles and follow the signs that point toward Alum Creek State Park Marina. The entrance is located on Hollenback Road.
