NEW PATROL BOAT TO ENHANCE CLEVELAND WATERWAY SAFETY

CLEVELAND, OH - To support patrolling of Cleveland’s lakefront, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) today presented a new 27-foot marine patrol boat to the city’s Ports and Harbors Unit during a special ceremony at the Port Authority pier.

The 27-foot Boston Whaler is specially equipped for marine enforcement and to provide assistance in search and rescue activities. The boat is valued at approximately $135,000 and is provided on loan to the City of Cleveland through the ODNR Division of Watercraft’s marine patrol grant assistance program.

Patrol boats, motors and trailers have previously been provided to other participants in this program, including the Lorain Port Authority, Rocky River Police Department and Vermilion Police Department.
