COLUMBUS, OH - A new full-color brochure highlighting Ohios most popular rivers and streams for canoe and kayak enthusiasts is now available through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR).
We are proud to again produce this popular series of brochures that provides updated information on boating opportunities on Ohios rivers and streams, said Jeff Hoedt, chief of the ODNR Division of Watercraft.
In addition to describing 73 of Ohios primary boating streams, the new brochure contains information on boating education classes, recommended boating equipment, potential waterway hazards and safety tips. It also features a classification scale, rating streams from I to VI in boating difficulty. Most of Ohios streams are rated Class I and II.
The free brochure is available from the Division of Watercraft by calling 1-877-4BOATER and from field offices located in Akron, Cambridge, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Maumee Bay, Portsmouth, Sandusky, Springfield and at Alum Creek Lake.
Boating is a fun and safe recreational activity enjoyed by more than three million Ohioans each year.
