COLUMBUS, OH - State watercraft officer Adam J. Prokop, has been honored as one of three regional recipients of the Boating Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Award by the National Association of Boating Law Administrators.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) has also named Prokop as area supervisor of the Division of Watercrafts central Ohio field office, located at Alum Creek Lake in Delaware County.
A.J. consistently performs his duties at a level that exceeds expectations for quality and professionalism, said Ken Alvey, chief of the ODNR Division of Watercraft.
Prokop was honored last November as ODNRs Watercraft Officer of the Year for 2002. He is a 1980 graduate of Kenmore High School in Akron. Prior to joining ODNR in 1990, Prokop had served in various capacities with the U.S. Coast Guard and received numerous commendations.
Each state officer of the year recipient becomes eligible for regional and national awards.
The National Association of Boating Law Administrators is a professional association of state and provincial boating law administrators. Its mission is to protect, promote and enhance safe boating on North American waterways and to maintain partnerships and cooperation among recreational boating safety interests.
Prokop resides in Grand Rapids with his wife ,Dawn, and children Joshua, Jeremy, Jacob and Amy.
