COLUMBUS, OH - Boat owners are reminded they can conveniently renew their boat registrations online through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Internet registration system.
The system was introduced in 2001 and last year, a total of 4,131 registration renewals were completed through the online system. Boat owners can access the system 24 hours a day through June 30 by visiting the ODNR web site at ohiodnr.com
Approximately 130,000 renewal notices have been sent statewide to watercraft owners whose current registrations will expire on March 1. The registrations are valid for a period of three years. With more than 415,000-registered watercraft, Ohio ranks among the top ten states nationally in recreational boating.
For the first time this year, boat owner address changes can be made using the online system. However, other registration information that needs to be corrected or changed will still require boat owners to visit their local watercraft registration agent.
A listing of all watercraft registration agents is available on ODNRs web site and by calling the Division of Watercraft toll-free at 877-4BOATER (877-426-2837).
