CHECK THAT REGISTRATION BEFORE BOATING THIS YEAR
COLUMBUS, OH -- With warmer weather quickly approaching, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) reminds boaters to check their watercraft registration tags before taking to Ohio's rivers, lakes and streams. Registration tags on the bow of the boat that read "99" will expire at the end of February.
Boaters can register a boat at any ODNR Division of Watercraft field office or at any Watercraft Registration Agent, which includes most of the state's Deputy Registrar Offices, where automobile tags are sold. To find the Watercraft registration agent nearest you, look in the Yellow Pages or call (614) 265-6480. A list is also available on the Internet at: www.dnr.state.oh.us/odnr/watercraft/reg/agent.html
A registration is required for all watercraft, including canoes, kayaks, rowboats and inflatables. Watercraft registrations are valid for three years. Cost of registration varies on type and size of watercraft.
