WAYNESVILLE, OH -- A 6.4-mile portion of the Little Miami Scenic Trail between Kings Mills and Loveland in Warren County will be closed until early spring for utility and paving projects, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR).
A 2.4-mile section of the trail will be closed northwest of Maineville between Grandin Road and Fosters Crossing (Old 3C Highway) from December 28 through mid-April. That project includes installation of a sanitary sewer and replacement of storm water culverts, along with trail widening and paving improvements.
In addition, a four-mile section of trail from the Old 3C Highway south to Loveland will be closed from March 1 through mid-April for sub-surface repair, widening and re-paving.
By mid-spring, more than six miles of the trail from Grandin Road to Loveland will be widened from 8 feet to 10 feet. The trail improvements are a cooperative effort between ODNR and Warren County.
Information and updates on the project will be posted at staging areas along the trail in the communities of Corwin, Morrow, Loveland and Milford. The trail offers about 70 miles of paved pathway for bicycling, hiking, skating along the scenic Miami River between Springfield in Clark County and Milford in Clermont County. Remaining segments of the trail will remain open through the winter.
