OHIO FIRST LADY HOPE TAFT TO DEDICATE IMPROVED TRAIL AT
CONKLE’S HOLLOW STATE NATURE PRESERVE
 

COLUMBUS, OH – A dedication of the newly improved Lower Gorge Trail at Conkle’s Hollow State Nature Preserve will be celebrated by Ohio First Lady Hope Taft, as well as state and local officials at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 28.

Most of the Lower Gorge Trail is now paved and accessible to a wider range of visitors, including those in wheelchairs, families with strollers and folks who will appreciate a casual, less-taxing stroll.

In addition to the paved surface, two new footbridges and culverts make it easier for all trail users to see and enjoy the gorge’s Black Hand sandstone cliffs that rise nearly 200 feet above the valley floor and the unique plant communities that thrive in its recesses.

WHERE: Conkle’s Hollow State Nature Preserve, located 12 miles south of Logan.
