COLUMBUS, OH Jim Brower, manager of
Maumee Bay State Park in Lucas County, has received Ohio State Parks’ “Service & Stewardship Award” for 2004, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR)
The award recognizes Brower’s efforts to successfully implement long-term goals of Ohio State Parks in his day-to-day operations.
"Jim has actively pursued the goals of our strategic plan and excelled at both customer service and community relations,” said Dan West, chief of Ohio State Parks.
Brower is credited with initiating one of Ohio State Parks first campground host programs and later one of the first state park friends groups. He has hosted hundreds of successful special events and was one of the first managers to try innovative camping getaway rentals. His park is actively involved in several habitat management programs, including wetlands and butterfly research.
“Our park visitors, the local community and the entire park system benefit greatly from Jim’s ‘get it done’ attitude,” West said.
