COLUMBUS, OH - The Hamilton County Soil & Water Conservation District was recently honored at the National Press Club in Washington D.C. for being one of the top conservation districts in the country. The district was presented the honor as part of the national Goodyear Conservation Awards.

The program recognizes the role conservation districts play in protecting and conserving the nation's natural resources. The Hamilton County Soil & Water Conservation District was selected, along with six other districts from other states, out of a field of more than 1,300 entries.

"This prestigious award shows the high quality of work and effort put forth by the employees of the Hamilton County Soil & Water Conservation District," said Larry Vance, chief of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Soil & Water Conservation. "Our experience in working with the Hamilton County SWCD has been positive and beneficial to us and other conservation districts. This award is truly deserved."
