Prevent Development Problems
on Reclaimed Mined Lands
Evaluate AML areas before construction begins, so AML concerns can be accommodated as part of the planning process. The division’s Abandoned Mine Land Program does not fund reclamation, water replacement or stabilization projects if the landowner fails to address the AML problems prior to development.

The following resources will help you avoid problems that can occur as a result of site development on reclaimed or abandoned mine sites.

Underground Mine Locator
View locations of more than 4,300 mapped underground mines in Ohio. Information can be accessed by either entering a street address for the area of interest or by zooming in on the area and clicking on abandoned underground mine features.
