Ohio Department of Natural Resources - Labor Management Committee

ODNR-OCSEA Labor Management Committee:


The Ohio Department of Natural Resources and OCSEA/AFSCME, Local 11, AFL-CIO have a joint labor-management committee established pursuant to Article 8 of the OCSEA labor Agreement. This committee has been in existence since the inception of the first collective bargaining agreement in 1986.

In 1999, the parties jointly requested and received a Workforce Development grant to obtain labor-management training for the committee as was well as a problem-solving subcommittee regarding subcontracting in the ODNR Division of Parks and Recreation. This training was provided by the Columbus Area Labor-Management Committee (CALMC), a non-profit organization that promotes the development of high-performance organizations through joint participation of labor and management. Through this training process, the committee developed the following mission statement:

To continuously improve ODNR labor-management relationships, the ODNR Labor-Management Team jointly utilizes problem-solving techniques to creatively resolve issues, provide direction, and promote a high quality work environment for all employees.
