How Can I Help?
Did you ever think, “Gee, I’m only one person. Can I really make a difference all by myself?”
YOU BET YOU CAN! There are plenty of ways you can help to make the earth a better place for plants, animals...AND US. Just as many small trees form a forest, our individual efforts put together can achieve great accomplishments. Think of each good deed you do as “one more tree in the forest” for a better environment!
For wildlife in your backyard:
- Build a feeder, house or nest box and put it up
- Make brush piles and wildlife plantings
- Plan and maintain areas that are not mowed
- Put out a bird bath or water source -
- Use native plants to landscape
To help conserve resources:
- Reduce, reuse, recycle (and prevent littering)
- Instead of the car, use your bike or skateboard
- Don’t leave water on when you brush or wash
- Close doors behind you and turn out lights
At school:
- Read a book about conservation or the outdoors
- Organize a “green-up day” for your class
- Talk to a friend
- Plant a tree
