Grand Lake St. Marys Boat Dock Lottery Set for September 5
ST. MARYS, OH – Grand Lake St. Marys State Park will hold its annual lottery drawing for boat dock rental privileges on Saturday, September 5. Interested applicants can enter the lottery at the park office no later than 9:45 a.m. The drawing will take place at 10 a.m.
Grand Lake St. Marys State Park offers 112 state rental docks in four locations; Frey’s Channel, St. Marys Boat Club Channel, Schell’s Channel and West Bank Harbor. Docks are rented for a five-year term and rental terms are staggered so that approximately 20 state rental docks become available each year. A map of available docks is posted at the park office.
Applicants must bring their current boat registration along with photo identification. A boat registration may only be used once, and an individual may enter only once, regardless of the number of watercraft registered in his/her name. Qualified applicants will be offered their choice of available docks in the order that their applications are drawn. Each applicant is eligible for only one dock space, and must choose a preferred dock at the time of the drawing. Existing state dock holders cannot apply unless they relinquish their existing dock privileges. Lottery winners must pay an annual dock fee no later than March 31 each season to retain dock privileges.
A waiting list will be established for late applicants, applicants who are unable to appear in person and applicants who are unsuccessful in the lottery drawing. Any available docks after the drawing will be offered to waiting list applicants in the order they were received. Denial of a dock by a waiting list applicant will result in removal from the waiting list.
Grand Lake St. Marys State Park is located at 834 Edgewater Drive, St. Marys, Ohio, 45885.
