Health and Safety Training

The DNR Health and Safety Coordinator provides and/or coordinates training to DNR employees upon request. Currently, training is available in the areas listed below. For more information about these training programs, please contact Steve Bates.

Training Program Description
Blood-borne Pathogens This training is provided by an outside source for commissioned officers only. The training covers universal protocols and procedures to avoid exposure to blood-borne pathogens such as Hepatitis and HIV and what to do in the event of an exposure incident.
CPR/First Aid This training is provided periodically with preference given to DNR Safety Wardens at Fountain Square. This is a certification program based on the National Red Cross standards.
Defensive Driving The training content and materials are provided by the National Safety Council.This is a four-hour course which provides driving safety tips to prevent and avoid accidents and promote safe driving.
Hearing Conservation This training is provided by PERRP for DNR employees who are currently in the audiometric testing program.
Workplace Violence The DNR Health and Safety Committee is currently developing a statewide training initiative to inform employees of the signs of work place violence and how to prevent it.
