The science education associations listed on this page have a variety of materials and programs available. Listing these associations does not constitute an endorsement by the Department of Natural Resources or the Division of Geological Survey. This list is by no means comprehensive.
- Environmental Education Council of Ohio (EECO). Organization for educators and others who are concerned about the environment. Offers lesson plans, teacher workshops and grant-writing workshops, newsletter, and publications, including Guidelines for Success: Best Practices for Environmental Education (many publications can be downloaded from EECO Web site).

- National Science Teachers Association (NSTA). Publication offerings include science-education journals (Science and Children, Science Scope, The Science Teacher, Quantum); How to Teach with Topographic Maps, a 24-page booklet of activities and a topographic map to teach students in grades 5-8 how to read topographic maps; and Perpetual Calendar, showing important historical science-related events using numerical dates but without days of the week. Calendar also lists interdisciplinary activities, using common household objects, that draw upon themes and topics associated with the month's events.
