A very small earthquake occurred beneath Lake Erie about 3.5 miles northwest of Mentor on March 27 at 12:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. No felt reports have been received. This is the smallest of five earthquakes that have occurred so far in 2006 at this same general location. Previous earthquakes occurred in this area on January 6 (2.6), January 13 (2.3), February 10 (2.6), and March 11 (3.0). All of these events were felt and the 3.0-magnitude earthquake on March 11 resulted in more than 300 felt reports received via an Internet report form.
