Paul's Scarlet English Hawthorn- Crataegus oxyacantha 'Pauli'
Wooster Planted: 1956
Bever at Henry Site: 6' Tree Lawn

1971 Comments:
These trees have the upright spreading character typical of this cultivar, but are not uniform in height or caliper. They have been limbed up to prevent interference with pedestrian traffic and because of power lines above.

1997 Comments:
These plants were originally planted in a 6' tree lawn. There were an estimated nine plants planted. None survived. We have consistently had English Hawthorn die. This is in keeping with the situation in the shade tree evaluation plot where fire blight killed most of the plants in about 10 years.

Zero percent of the overall planting survived (0 of 9 trees).
