Globe Norway Maple - Acer platanoides 'Globosum'
Toledo Planted: 1965
536 Spring Site: 8' Tree Lawn

1971 Comments: The trees have the typical globular form of this cultivar and. Although there are power lines overhead, the trees will never interfere. Their appearance is overly formal and not ideally suited to a street tree situation. The street is narrow and the houses are close to the sidewalk. Therefore, this size tree is suited to this relatively limited area. However, an informal or upright tree would be more aesthetic.

1997 Comments: Again, very poor survival was seen for this plant. Some of the remaining plants are in serious decline and need to be pruned for the overhead power lines despite the dwarfed and formal nature of this cultivar.

Fifteen percent of the overall planting survived (11 of 71 trees).
1997 data on the table are based on four trees.
