The Marietta State Nursery has closed for business.

Seedling Sales:

General sales will not take place this year. Please visit the US Forest Service Native Plant Materials Database to locate a nursery near you or contact your local Soil & Water Conservation District.

Equipment Liquidation:

The Division of Forestry is required to liquidate all equipment through the firm which holds the auction services contract for the State of Ohio. Division staff cannot sell assets directly to buyers.

A variety of equipment is to be sold through online auctions. It is anticipated that the auctions will start in February. When items are ready to be sold, they will be listed on the

Asset Auctions website under the Government Auctions section. In compliance with Ohio Revised Code, auctions are open for seven days to state agencies, then to Ohio political subdivisions for seven day, then to the general public. User access for bidding on State of Ohio auctions is handled through Asset Auctions and there is a link on their main page to apply for access.

The nursery manager is compiling a full inventory of sales items with photos, which will be posted to our website. The Division of Forestry will schedule several weeks between the posting of the list and the start of the auctions to allow potential buyers the opportunity to visit the nursery to inspect items before bidding. A final onsite auction will be held at the nursery in the summer of 2009. Likely items in that auction will include assorted hand-tools and supplies, items that did not sell online, office furniture and miscellaneous items of nominal value.
