Information & Education

Ohio’s forests contain a wealth of natural information that you can experience first hand by visiting any of our 20 state forests.

Through additional education, you can become informed stewards of the land. The Division of Forestry is committed to helping Ohioans and other visitors understand the full importance of well-managed woodlands.

To assist in educating Ohio's youth, the Information and Education section coordinates Project Learning Tree workshops so educators and youth leaders can incorporate quality environmental education into their lessons or programs.

What has a tree done for you lately?
Those short and tall, woody stemmed plants with leaves or needles are true wonders of nature. From the air we breathe, to a 2 X 4 in your home’s wall, the tree has proven to be "humankind's best friend."

Foresters around the globe are trying to manage the world's forest so they are healthier, more plentiful and at the same time provide the many products we all need to survive.

Please take a moment to realize just how many things in your everyday lives can be attributed to trees.
