Cleveland Museum of Natural History
The CMNH acquires and manages rare wetland habitat types in northeast Ohio. They provide information to landowners to manage unique habitats as well. Listen to frog and toad songs on their web site. |
Ducks Unlimited
This non-profit organization seeks to protect, enhance, restore and manage important wetlands and associated uplands for waterfowl species. |
Black Swamp Conservancy
This land trust organization, based in northwest Ohio, seeks to protect wetlands through securing conservation easements. They provide technical assistance to landowners also. |
Buckeye Swamp
The Olentangy River Wetland Research Park at The Ohio State University is a 30-acre wetland teaching and research facility with 12 acres of experimental marshes, 13 acres of bottomland hardwood forest, a visitors wetland pavilion with a good view of the wetlands, and a 9,000 square feet wetland research building complete with offices and labs for wetland scientists at Ohio State. Public tours of the site can be arranged. |
