| | Geology Hike at Blackhand Gorge | | | Dates: | Saturday, October 20, 2012 | | Title: | Geology Hike at Blackhand Gorge | | Description: | Help the Ohio Geological Survey celebrate Earth Science Week by joining us for a hike at Blackhand Gorge State Nature Preserve (Licking County) to examine the geological processes that helped shape one of the most scenic gorges in our state. Survey geologist Mike Angle will lead the trek along the south side of the gorge, encompassing a portion of the Blackhand Trail as well as the Quarry Rim Trail. Time permitting, the group will head to the north side of the gorge for a different perspective.
