Alliance, Ohio, Earthquake of August 6, 2000:

Residents of Alliance (Stark County) were jolted by a small earthquake on Sunday, August 6, 2000, at 10:02 p.m. EDT. The event was recorded throughout the state by seismograph stations of the Ohio Seismic Network (OhioSeis). Preliminary calculations indicate a magnitude of 3.0 (mbLg) and an epicenter northeast of Alliance. No damage was reported. This is the first historic earthquake in this general location.
