The The Ohio Coastal Atlas is a suite of mapping resources developed to provide coastal decision-makers, professionals, educators, interest groups and the public with information about Lake Erie and its watershed.
The project features a variety of products, including a digital version of the printed Ohio Coastal Atlas Second Edition, an interactive atlas, Use Case Toolbox Map Viewers and access to static maps, GIS datasets and resource contacts. These products are divided into the five categories below.
 Learn about Ohio’s portion of Lake Erie and its watershed with the 240-page printed Ohio Coastal Atlas Second Edition. The atlas presents the interactions between the Lake Erie region’s cultural, biological, physical and natural phenomena through maps, narratives and photographs. The second edition atlas is divided into 13 chapters viewable by selecting “Discover.” Each chapter can be downloaded as a PDF. (DVD)
 The Ohio Coastal Interactive Atlas is an online mapping resource that enables users to view a variety of geospatial data layers and develop customized Ohio Coastal Atlas maps. The Interactive Atlas uses ArcGIS Viewer for Flex technology and is powered by ESRI.
Dive farther into geospatial data by using one of the Ohio Coastal Atlas Use Case Map Viewers. Each map viewer focuses on a specific use case theme, ranging from headlining coastal initiatives such as offshore wind to specific areas of interest such as Ohio’s public access sites on Lake Erie. Each Use Case Map Viewer integrates thematic mapping layers relevant to the topic and features a variety of custom tools that allow users to gather comprehensive attribute data and query information. The Use Case Map Viewers use ArcGIS Viewer for Flex technology and are powered by ESRI.
 The Coastal Maps and GIS Library is a repository of maps featuring Ohio’s coastal counties, Lake Erie, the Lake Erie Watershed and the Great Lakes. The library also includes the Ohio Coastal Atlas GIS data inventory and metadata portal, and direct access to the data download.

6/16/2008 - Ohio Coastal Atlas Project receives a Notable Government Document 2007 Award
The American Library Association's Government Documents Round Table (GODORT) has awarded the Ohio Coastal Atlas Project a Notable Government Document 2007 Award. According to the June 16 letter from State Librarian Jo Budler, the award was in the State/Local category. The purpose of the Notable Documents award is to "recognize excellence in government publications and identify documents of distinction."
