Wind Energy Rules

In coordination with our coastal partners within the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and other agencies, the Office of Coastal Management (OCM) is in the process of drafting Ohio Administrative Code rules for the placement of Lake Erie wind-powered electrical generation facilities.

 

 

 

 

This updated Wind Turbine Placement Favorability Analysis Map (v1.5) was prepared by the ODNR Office of Coastal Management and posted on May 12, 2009. For map inquires and data, please contact Brian George.

Governor Strickland signs agreement to Speed Wind Power Development, Establish Process to Protect Natural Resources. The Cooperation Agreement is the first of its kind in Ohio and establishes a collaborative relationship between the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and JW Great Lakes Wind, LLC for future wind energy development projects.

"Building an Advanced Energy Future for Offshore Wind: A Conversation Among Lake Erie Stakeholders" was held from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at Case Western Reserve University's Thwing Center, 10900 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland. Event organizers included Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office,  Great Lakes Energy Development Task Force, Great Lakes Institute for Energy Innovation at Case Western Reserve University, Ohio Department of Development, Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Ohio Wind Working Group.
