Where To Recycle in Ohio

The state of Ohio has regulations which broadly outline solid waste management and waste reduction goals for the state's industrial, commercial and residential waste.

Decisions on how to reach those goals are made at the local level--so what you can recycle, and where you can recycle it, differs from community to community in Ohio.

The links below will help you find exactly what, where and how you can recycle.

For common household and office items

(bottles, cans, office paper, yard waste and cardboard, etc.)

Contact your local solid waste district to find

  • Local drop off locations
  • Curbside pick-up service options
  • What materials are accepted by your recycling service provider

For hazardous material or large items

(motor oil, tires, batteries, electronics, etc.)

For large items still in working condition, find re-use resources in the DRLP waste reduction guide.
