Substitutions (Alternate Species Code) Please indicate a second choice for each species ordered in case your first choice is not in stock.

Seedling Replacement Policy Upon receipt of seedlings each customer is responsible for evaluating condition of shipment. If trees appear in poor condition or dead, immediately (within 24 hours) call the nursery or have a Service Forester inspect the stock (you may be requested to return a sampling of the stock in question). If the trees are dead or dying the Division will replace the stock in question if still available or you won’t be charged. If the customer plants the seedlings it is assumed that the trees arrived in good and acceptable condition.

If after planting, inspection of the planted trees reveals total (or near total) mortality, contact the nursery. The nursery manager will evaluate the circumstances concerning the situation and decide what action, if any, will be taken.

The customer must understand that the Division of Forestry is under no obligation to replace or refund any seedlings after they are planted. Trees are not guaranteed after arrival.

P.T. Inoculated Trees The roots of some tree seedlings are inoculated with the mycorrhizal fungus Pisolithus tinctorius to enhance seedling growth rate and survival on harsh sites such as unreclaimed strip mine land. Consult a forester before ordering these trees since they provide no advantage in other areas.

Hours of Operation You can call Marietta State Nursery (740-373-6574) Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Other times, please use the toll free number (877-691-8733) and leave a message.

Restriction: Seedlings grown and sold by Marietta State Nursery are intended for general reforestation and conservation purposes. No seedlings distributed by the nursery shall be removed and resold with roots attached.
