ODNR has updated Ohio's Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP) which sets Ohio’s outdoor recreation strategies and funding priorities for the next five years. The updated 2008 plan is Ohio’s eighth SCORP.

This plan establishes Ohio’s eligibility to receive and award federal Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) monies.

Many focus group participants also responded to a short take home questionnaire about their use and opinion of Ohio's SCORPs.

PUBLIC INPUT PHASE

ODNR hosted thirteen regional input focus groups around Ohio during 2006.

Through these meetings ODNR heard from over one hundred outdoor recreation professionals and enthusiasts regarding outdoor recreation participation, trends and current issues.

Meeting participants were asked a series of questions related to outdoor recreation trends and issues. These questions often generated a good deal of lively discussion.

In early 2007, a randomly selected samples of 6000 Ohioans received the 2006 Statewide Outdoor Recreation Participation and Satisfaction Survey in their mailboxes.

A survey of this nature has not been conducted since 1997. All surveys have been compiled and analyzed. View the survey report.

Online Survey

During the summer and fall of 2006, all visitors to the ODNR website were also invited to share their comments on outdoor recreation in Ohio through an online survey. More than 125 enthusiasts participated in this online survey. View the Online Survey Results.
