You work for the Ohio Division of Wildlife as a fish biologist studying bass in Lake (make up a name for your lake and write it on the line) ________________.

Beaver cartoonYou caught 30 bass in your net, tagged them, and then released them back into the lake. The next day you went back and caught 9 bass in your net, 2 of which were tagged. What is the estimated population of bass in the lake? Follow the Peterson formula below to find out.

30 (bass tagged) x 9 = 270; 270/2 (tagged bass caught) = number of bass in the lake

How many of these fish below can you match with their names? Draw a line from the fish to its name.
