AKRON, OH – The ODNR Division of Wildlife will hold a public drawing for controlled waterfowl daily hunting permits on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 for portions of Killbuck Marsh Wildlife Area. The drawing will be held at the Valley College Grange, 2411 Shreve Road in Wooster. Valley College Grange is located south of Wooster on State Route 226, 0.1 mile south of State Route 3.

COLUMBUS, OH - Mourning dove hunters need to be aware of a typographical error in Publication 298, Migratory Game Bird Hunting Seasons, 2008 regarding the second half of the season, says the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife.  The correct opening date is December 9, not  December 8 as printed in the regulations.

COLUMBUS, OH - Ohio hunters will again enjoy a 60-day duck hunting season and a six-duck bag limit this year. The 2008-2009 waterfowl hunting season dates have been approved by the Ohio Wildlife Council and are the most liberal regulations allowed by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife.

XENIA, OH --- An increasing deer population, resulting in extensive damage to native plant communities, has led the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Division of Natural Areas and Preserves to coordinate special archery deer hunts at 25 state nature preserves across the state. XENIA, OH – The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife will again hold controlled hunts on Fallsville, Indian Creek, Bott, Spring Valley, and Rush Run Wildlife Areas by permit only Sept. 1 and 2, 2008. COLUMBUS, OH - The Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Wildlife received five national communications awards. The communication efforts were produced over the past year. The awards were received from the Association for Conservation Information (ACI) at the organization's annual conference last week in Nashville, Tennessee. More than 300 entries were submitted by state, federal, and Canadian wildlife conservation, parks, and natural resource agencies for consideration in 24 different categories. Read More »
