Event very successful with over 140 fish caught
MIAMI COUNTY, OH - The North Dayton Anglers & Gun Club’s annual special fishing derby had another successful year according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife. Forty five participants now have a fishing story to share with family and friends thanks to the conservation clubs efforts.
The Club held its 31st annual fishing derby on June 1, 2013. Youth and adult derby participants are from the local area and are living with a variety of physical/mental disabilities. The club and many volunteers treat the anglers to a special day of fishing and friendship. Prizes were awarded for a variety of categories including first fish, biggest fish and most fish caught.
Local sponsors make the event possible; supplying bait, snacks and prizes. Local wildlife officers and conservation club members also attend and help the anglers with baiting, casting and landing their catch.
This annual event is held on the first Saturday in June. For more information on fishing events in Ohio visit www.wildohio.com .
