Division of Wildlife Selects New District Manager for Central Ohio
COLUMBUS, OH – Former Division of Wildlife License Sales Coordinator Korey Brown has been named the new district manager for Wildlife District One in central Ohio, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Division of Wildlife. Brown succeeds David Lane, who was promoted to chief of the Division of Wildlife in May of 2011.
“Korey’s role as license coordinator and as operations project manager in the development and implementation of our new automated license and game check system has given him an opportunity to work with many of our customers, conservation club leaders, and legislators,” said Sue Howard, assistant chief of the Division of Wildlife. “This combination and his managerial skills provide him a unique perspective on leading our District One team.”
Brown holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Otterbein University, with business management and supervisory experience in the public sector. A native of Worthington, Brown has been with the Division of Wildlife for 16 years serving in various management positions that include responsibility for statewide hunting and fishing license sales, administration of special hunting and fishing lottery event drawings, warehousing and fulfillment, and customer service operations.
Due to Brown’s key role in the implementation of the new license and game check system, Rich Carter will continue in his interim role as acting district manager through the end of December. Brown will be working with Carter over the next several months in order to ensure a smooth transition into his new job.
