The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) will be repairing the roadway at the Sandusky Bay Bridge Fishing Access area in Ottawa County.  This will not affect access to the area but the public will encounter workmen at various times throughout the month of May repairing portions of the roadway.

Findlay, OHBrent Allan, 23, of Toledo, Ohio has been assigned as the new Hancock County Wildlife Officer, according to the ODNR Division of Wildlife. Former Hancock County Wildlife Officer Kevin Russell was promoted to Wildlife Officer Supervisor in December.

OAK HARBOR, OH - A pair of bald eagles have built a nest behind the Sportsmen’s Migratory Bird Center at Magee Marsh Wildlife Area. To protect the birds and the nest, one loop of the Walking Trail will be closed beginning February 1, 2011 until further notice.

FINDLAY, OH – The case against six Williams County residents and two Michigan residents came to a close on November 10, 2010.  A total of 31 deer related charges were filed, including one felony, in Williams and Fulton Counties. The total fines and costs were $5,241.00.

FINDLAY, OH – The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife has installed a new handicapped accessible fishing platform at the Dempsey access.  The platform is 30’ long and 12’ wide and it extends out over the rip rap to allow anglers easy access to the waters of Sandusky Bay.

FINDLAY, OH – A Crawford County man was found guilty on one count of possessing an endangered species and a second count of deterring an officer, both first degree misdemeanors.  David D. Duncan, 53, of Crestline changed his plea of Not Guilty to No Contest on both charges during a pre-trial hearing on Tuesday August 31, 2010 in the Crawford County Municipal Court.  Duncan received total fines of $1,500 plus court costs and was placed on probation for a period of three years.

FINDLAY, OH – Cody Klima, 23, was recently named as the new wildlife officer assigned to Lucas County, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife. Wildlife Officer Klima’s new assignment follows the promotion of former Lucas County Wildlife Officer Kevin Newsome.  Officer Newsome was promoted to Law Enforcement Unit B Supervisor, which includes Lucas County.
