COLUMBUS, OH – Hunters took 23,600 white-tailed deer on a rain-soaked Monday, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife. The deer-gun season remains open through Sunday, December 4 then reopens for two days on Saturday and Sunday, December 17-18.

COLUMBUS, OH - Ohio's fall wild turkey season ended November 27 with hunters bagging 1,375 during the seven-week season. Ashtabula County led the state with 67 birds taken, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Division of Wildlife. Last year’s harvest total was 1,425.

FINDLAY, OH – A male bobcat was recently caught in a trap in Williams County, Ohio according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Division of Wildlife. Although known to exist in Ohio’s more heavily wooded southern counties, this is the first verified report of a bobcat in northwest Ohio. Until now, all other reports have been unverifiable.

HURON, OH – An $821,000 grant to fund a project to develop incentives for effective stormwater management in Ohio’s Lake Erie basin was recently awarded to a conservation team led by the Chagrin River Watershed Partners, Inc., according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). Funding for the three-year project is provided by the National Estuarine Research Reserve System (NERRS).
