Darlene Sillick
Darlene Sillick is leaving a legacy of her own by volunteering with several conservation groups and establishing nest box trails and grids for eastern bluebirds, tree swallows and prothonatary warblers just to name a few. She received the Presidential Voluteerism Award in 2006 and has been involved in conservation education and nest box construction for more than 20 years as a volunteer. Darlene has worked at Cardinal Health since 2003 and always makes time to volunteer for the cause of conservation. Here is a brief video of her latest endeavor as advisor the Ohio Young Birders Club. Darlene organized the “birding by kayak” event to help young people explore the outdoors.
Like Darlene, others that have purchased the legacy stamp are putting their “Stamp” on wildlife conservation. If you or someone you know has purchased a stamp we would encourage you to send us your best photo of any conservation endeavor including a journey, project, educational involvement or land use project that you as a stamp buyer have been a part of. Please try to show your 2011 legacy stamp or promotional magnet in the photo. It doesn’t need to be a big part of the photo as long as it’s included somewhere. You can add your image to a photo album on the Ohio Wildlife Legacy Stamp facebook page, click here to go now.
Note: Please only submit one photo to the photo album. If more than one photo is posted the extras will be deleted.
