The 1,336-acre Maumee Bay State Park is the westernmost state park on Ohio’s Lake Erie shore. The park offers a multitude of amenities for day-use and overnight visitors including two beaches—a large beach on the bay and an inland lake swimming beach. The inland lake is also suitable for sailing and canoeing. Kayak rentals are available on the bay during summer months. The ODNR Division of Watercraft’s Maumee Bay field office is located at the state park headquarters building. A 32-slip marina accessible from the bay is available to boaters by reservation.

The park is situated among scenic meadows, and marshlands and wetlands that are remnants of the Great Black Swamp. The park provides habitat to many animal and avian species. More than 300 types of birds have been recorded in the park. The park is also home to the Trautman Nature Center which is staffed year-round by a naturalist. The center features interactive displays, an auditorium, viewing windows and a research laboratory. Maumee Bay State Park includes an amphitheatre, Scottish Links-style golf course, a butterfly house and a 10-mile network of trails, including a bridle trail.

Overnight visitors can stay at the Maumee Bay Resort Lodge, in the deluxe cottages or at the 256-site campground. Use of some of the park’s amenities, such as the lodge’s swimming pools, is limited to lodgers and cottage guests.		 Location Map:
